L K Advani was born on November 8, 1929 in Karachi His earlier schooling was at St Patrick's in Karachi. He graduated in law from Bombay University Advani worked as a journalist for one of the RSS' publications, the Organiser At the time of partition, Advani was the RSS organiser in Karachi City. Advani embarked on his first yatra over the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya in 1990 Advani is passionate about films. In fact, he was the Organiser's film critic for years. Advani's second trip, the 'Swarna Jayanti Yatra', was held in 1997 to mark the golden jubilee of Independence. He keeps fit by going for long walks When an interviewer asked what his most precious possession is, Advani said, 'My collection of books.' |
