Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh on Thursday said he would campaign against his brother Laxman if the latter contested the Lok Sabha election.

Laxman, who represented Rajgarh constituency in the XIIIth Lok Sabha, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on February 24.

"Lok Sabha polls are like a dharma yudh and I will definitely campaign against Laxman Singh if he fights the elections," Digvijay said in Bhopal.

Singh said he tried to persuade Laxman not to join the BJP, "but I feel sorry that I failed".

Only about a week ago Laxman had suggested that Priyanka Vadra, Congress president Sonia Gandhi's daughter, should be fielded from Rajgarh, he said.

Digvijay, however, said his brother's entry into the BJP would not have any adverse impact on the Congress.
