Actress Sudha Chandran, who became a household name following the success of her debut film Nache Mayuri, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of the outfit's president, M Venkaiah Naidu, in Mumbai on Thursday.
Chandran, who plays the negative role of Ramola Sikand in the popular daily Kahin Kissi Roz, "I will play the role of a vamp for the Congress and a positive role for the BJP."
She is the second television personality to join the BJP in recent times after Smruti Malhotra-Irani.
She has acted in over 70 films in various languages like Marathi, Hindi, Bengali, Gujrati and Kannada and in 82 serials on the small screen.
