Former gangster Arun Gawli, who once instilled fear among people, is today worried that the Mumbai police may eliminate him in an encounter.
On Monday, when the second phase of the general election took place, he did not venture out of his Dagdi chawl residence in Mumbai.

He charged Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar, Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil and NCP nominee from the constituency, Sachin Ahir, of "hatching a plan to eliminate" him.
"They want to murder me since I am going to win hands down," Gwali said, claiming that the rest of the contenders would lose their deposits.
Gawli said Mumbai crime branch encounter specialist Inspector Vijay Salakar had specially been deputed to kill him.
