A chopper carrying Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharati to Uttan in Thane district in Maharashtra made an emergency landing at Akole village in Ahmednagar district on Thursday evening after the BJP leader developed 'health problems'.
Sources told rediff.com that Bharati had complained of chest pain.
Bharati was flying to the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini located at Bhayander in Thane district from Aurangabad when she was taken ill, Thane Superintendent of Police Ramrao Pawar told the news agency PTI.
Pawar said on the chief minister's direction the chopper landed at Akole village in Ahmednagar district where a doctor examined her.
"The MP chief minister has now been admitted to a Nashik hospital," Pawar added.
