Two Rashtriya Janata Dal supporters were killed and many injured as incidents of police firing, bomb blasts, booth grabbing and shootouts marked polling in 11 of the 40 Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar, where around 40 to 45 per cent voters had cast their ballots till 1530 IST.

Police recovered the bodies of the two activists -- Ramashish Yadav and Pramod Biswakarma -- in Nawada constituency just before the polls began. They were abducted on Monday night and killed.

Four people were injured as anti-socials triggered blasts and stormed two booths in Gaya town, forcing the police to open fire in the air.

Suspected extremists looted three electronic voting machines at Imamganj in Gaya.

Inspector General of Police (Administration) Neelmani said a Central Reserve Police Force patrol escaped unhurt when the banned Maoist Communist Centre triggered a powerful landmine blast near Banjari in Rohtas district.

Eight persons suffered injuries in bomb explosions and shootouts in Patna, Jehanabad, Barh, and Ara constituencies.
