Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav on Friday filed his nomination papers for the prestigious Madhepura Lok Sabha constituency where he would take on Union Minister for Consumer Affairs and Janata Dal-United parliamentary board chairman Sharad Yadav.
Accompanied by Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan, Yadav went to the district collectorate and submitted his papers to the District Magistrate and Returning Officer Chaitanya Prasad.
Laloo had emerged victorious from the seat once in 1998 trouncing Sharad Yadav before he tasted a humiliating defeat at the hand of the JD-U leader in the 1999 election.
