Five members of the ruling coalition in Jammu and Kashmir, including Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, and a National Conference candidate have been elected to the state legislative council, the polling for which was held in Jammu on Tuesday.
Of the eight vacant seats in the legislative council, elections were held for two seats in Kashmir valley and four in Jammu division.
Two candidates had earlier been declared elected unopposed from Leh and Kargil districts in Ladakh region.
