BJP leader Vasundhara Raje was on Monday sworn-in as the first woman chief minister of Rajasthan, in Jaipur, along with a small team of nine ministers.
Raje had on Sunday discussed formation of her first ministry with the party's central leadership in Delhi. Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat's son-in-law Narpat Singh Rajvi will be part of her team.
Governor Kailashpati Misra administered the oath of office and secrecy to Raje at a glittering public function by in the presence of Union Finance Minister Jaswant Singh, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states of Gujarat (Narendra Modi) and Goa (Manohar Parrikar), and outgoing chief minister Ashok Gehlot. The function was held outside the state assembly building.
Eight cabinet ministers and a minister of state were also sworn in along with Raje.
