"The present position is favourable to the BJP," RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav said when asked if there should be an early poll. "If the time is conducive, they can go ahead (with a snap poll)," he said.

Congratulating the BJP for its performance in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, he said, "We saw a lot of change in the organisational structure and the cadres were working towards a common goal. It is a good situation."

Asked whether the Hindutva factor had helped for BJP, he said only in Madhya Pradesh was there a "direct fight" between Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and Hindutva. The Sangh Parivar was not the major contributor to the results in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, he said.
