New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum won the toss and elected to field in the third one-day international against India at Lancaster Park, Christchurch on Sunday.
McCullum has replaced regular captain Daniel Vettori, who has left the team to be present at the birth of his first child in Auckland.
Peter McGlashan remains in the side behind the stumps for McCullum, who was struck on the hand in the first one-dayer in Napier, while Tim Southee has replaced Iain O'Brien and off-spinner Jeetan Patel comes in for Vettori.
India, who lead the series 1-0, were unchanged from the side that played in the abandoned second one-day international in Wellington on Friday.
