The opening match and the formal inauguration of the second season of the Indian Premier League [ Images ] (IPL) is to be held in Mumbai [ Images ] on April 10, IPL sources said.

As per the original schedule issued by the organisers of the T20 league, Jaipur [ Images ] was to host the inaugural ceremony and the opener between first edition winners, Rajasthan Royals [ Images ] and Delhi Daredevils [ Images ].

But the schedule had to be reworked following security concerns in the wake of the terror attack on the Sri Lanka [ Images ] cricket team in Lahore [ Images ] and clashing of tournament dates with the general elections.

The revised schedule will be announced later, IPL sources said.
