South African pacer Andre Nel has been banned from three domestic Twenty20 matches after being found guilty of misconduct.
Nel appeared before the Cricket South Africa's Disciplinary Committee in Johannesburg yesterday and was found guilty of contravening Clause 1.4 of the Code of Conduct, which prohibits players from using crude or abusive language against any fellow player, official or spectator.
The incident took place during a domestic championship match between Nashua Cape Cobras and Bizhub Highveld Lions at Boland Park on January 4.
"Nel has been found guilty of misconduct and banned from three local Pro20 and inter-provincial matches," the CSA stated.
However, CSA added that Nel could appeal against the sentence.
