Peter Moores, who was sacked as England coach last month, has been appointed coach of Lancashire on a three-year-contract, the county side said.
Moores, 46, previously coached Sussex to their first County Championship in 2003 before his brief spell in charge of England.
"Peter's resume speaks for itself and what he achieved with Sussex is the envy of all counties," chief executive Jim Cumbes told www.lccc.co.uk.
