Australia [ Images ] captain Ricky Ponting [ Images ] was fined 20 percent of his match fee and his team mates docked 10 percent on Monday for their slow over rate in the fourth and final Test against India [ Images ].

An International Cricket Council [ Images ] statement said Australia had been two overs short of their required target after taking time allowances into consideration. 

Ponting drew flak for using part-time bowlers to speed up the over-rate on the penultimate day of the fourth and final Test against India, but could not help his team escape a fine in the match which they lost by 172 runs.
