England pacer Ryan Sidebottom on Saturday said he may miss the first few matches of the seven-match One-day International series against India starting next week as he has not completely recovered from his calf injury.
"I might not be available for the first couple of matches but should be there after that," Sidebottom said.
The left-arm fast bowler sustained the injury during the just-concluded Stanford Super Series in the West Indies.
Sidebottom, who is on his first India tour, said reverse swing plays a pivotal role to any pacers' success on low and slow sub-continent pitches.
"The wickets here are conducive to batting but we will have to find a way to counter it. I will not change the way I bowl just because of such pitches," Sidebottom said.
He also said expressed optimism of beating India on their backyard.
The first match of the seven-match ODI series will be played at Rajkot on November 14.
