Somerset batsman Marcus Trescothick [ Images ] announced his retirement from international cricket with England [ Images ] due to health problems on Saturday.
"My desire to play cricket is as strong as it ever was. But, due to the problems that I have experienced, travelling abroad has become extremely stressful for me," he told Somerset's web site (www.somersetcountycc.co.uk).
Trescothick has suffered from a stress-related illness during past tours with England.
The 32-year-old has not played international cricket since withdrawing from tours to India [ Images ] and Australia [ Images ] in 2006 due to the illness, which he described last September as stress related.
The left-hander has been restricted to appearing for Somerset domestically but last week pulled out from their planned 12-day trip to Dubai [ Images ] after the illness recurred shortly before the team left the United Kingdom.
Trescothick averages almost 44 in 76 Tests and more than 37 in 123 one-day internationals.
