Five overseas players who have signed for the rebel Indian Cricket League Twenty20 [ Images ] competition have been denied registration to play English county cricket this season.
A statement from the England [ Images ] and Wales Cricket Board said applications for registration from Wavell Hinds (West Indies [ Images ]), Johannes van der Wath (South Africa [ Images ]), Andrew Hall [ Images ] (South Africa), Hamish Marshall (New Zealand [ Images ]) and Justin Kemp (South Africa had been rejected.
The International Cricket Council [ Images ] does not recognise the ICL, supporting instead the Indian Premier League [ Images ] which starts on April 18.
