New Zealand spoil Pietersen's captaincy debut, beat England to clinch series 3-1

New Zealand [ Images ] clinched a 3-1 win in the series by cruising to a 51-run victory over England [ Images ] in the fifth and final one-dayer at Lord's on Saturday, ensuring Kevin Pietersen's [ Images ] debut as captain ended in defeat.
The home team, chasing 267 to win, were bowled out for 215 with skipper Daniel Vettori [ Images ] taking three for 32 with his left-arm spin. Owais Shah [ Images ] top scored with 69.
Earlier, Scott Styris [ Images ] and Jacob Oram [ Images ] hit half-centuries to guide New Zealand to 266 for five in 50 overs.
The second match in the series was abandoned as a no-result.
