Kapil's Devils leave for London

The Kapil Dev-led Indian team, which won the 1983 World Cup, left for London [ Images ] on Tuesday to celebrate the silver jubilee of their historic triumph at Lord's.

The entire team, barring Ravi Shastri, left with their spouses by Air India's [ Images ] brand new Boeing 777-300 (ER) for the British capital where Sunil Gavaskar [ Images ] has organised a dinner to celebrate 25 years of the victory on Wednesday.

Before the departure, Kapil and the rest of the team cut a cake to mark the occasion and the legendary all-rounder thanked Air India for making their departure "a momentous occasion even though 25 years have lapsed."

They were seen off at the New Delhi [ Images ] International airport by Air India's Executive Director (Corp Com) Jitender Bharghav, and DS Kohli Executive Directive (Northern Region).
