The national selection panel headed by Dilip Vengsarkar will pick the squad for the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka [ Images ] after the second Test at Galle, the Cricket Board said on Monday.

"The team for the one-day series against Lanka would be chosen on August 6 in Mumbai [ Images ]. We are trying to pick the final squad of the Champions Trophy [ Images ] too on the same day though we have time till August 12 to do so", BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah told PTI on Monday.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni [ Images ], who had opted out of the three-Test series currently in progress in Lanka, is expected to attend the meeting as captain of the one-day team.

The one-dayers kick-off at Dumbulla on August 18 which is to host the second tie too on August 20. Both are day matches. 

The last three day-night internationals are to be held at Colombo's Premadasa Stadium on August 24, 26 and 29.

The ICC [ Images ] Champions Trophy is scheduled in Pakistan from September 11-24.
