It's the Twenty20 effect. A quarter-final encounter of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) 50 overs match finished in just an hour and 27 minutes.

With six ducks and the top individual score being just 7, Dakshin Kalikata Sansad fell like nine pins as they managed only 18 for 9 in 18.1 overs -- a new low in the history of CAB.

In fact, 6 of the 18 run total came from sundries.

It took the opposition Kalighat Club 1.4 overs to romp home in the J C Mukherjee trophy -- also a new high in the history of CAB.

Kalighat skipper Laxmi Ratan Shukla used two bowlers, Sanjib Sanyal and Avik Chowdhury with the latter claiming a five-wicket haul which included a hat-trick.

Put in to bat, the top three DKS batsmen (Joyjeet Basu, Abhishek Banerjee and Romit Sengupta) failed to open the account as Kalighat's Sanyal ripped through the top-order.

Sanyal came out with figures of 9.3-3-11-4.

Unleashing his fury, Chowdhury devastated the middle-order as DKS cut a sorry figure.

Chowdhury took his hattrick in the last ball of 16th over and the first and second ball of the 18th over. Sanjay Singh with seven was DKS's top scorer.
