# Harbhajan Singh (1056 runs + 253 wickets in 62) became the fourth Indian all-rounder after Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath to accomplish the double of 1000 runs and 200 wickets.
# Sachin Tendulkar (154 not out) registered his 38th century, extending his world record. It was his eighth against Australia, equal to the Indian record held by Sunil Gavaskar.
# Tendulkar is now the eighth batsman to have recorded eight or more centuries against Australia.
# Tendulkar's century knock is his fifth in Australia, emulating Gavaskar's tally in Australia. He is now seventh batsman overall to have posted five or more centuries against Australia in Australia. # Tendulkar became the second Indian after VVS Laxman to register three hundreds at the SCG - 148 not out in 1991-92, 241 not out in 2003-04 and 154 not out on January 4, 2008.
# When he reached 64 en route to the unbeaten 154, he became the first Indian (first in India-Australia Tests) to complete 2000 Test runs against Australia - 2090 at an average of 56.48 in 23 Tests.
