Tamil Nadu gained three points by virtue of first innings lead over Railways in their drawn encounter on the fourth and final day of their Ranji Trophy Super League Group B match in Chennai on Sunday.
With a first innings lead of 161 runs, Tamil Nadu, who resumed their second essay at 33 without loss today, made 389 for seven of 81 overs when the match ended in a draw today.
The highlight of the Tamil Nadu innings was a fine 107 by opener Arun Karthik (133 balls, 17x4) while Suresh Kumar's valiant batting display helped him make 90 runs (120 balls, 11x4, 2x6). When the match was declared drawn, Ganapathy remained unbeaten on 53 off 50 balls (7x4, 1x6).
Medium pacer Sabir Ali took two wickets for 83 while Anureet Singh, Kulamani Parida, Sanjay Bangar, Sanjiv Sanyal and Prasanjit Das claimed a wicket each for Railways, who got one point from this match.
