Sachin Tendulkar gained one place to be joint 16th and Yuvraj Singh climbed eight places up to 56th in the latest ICC Test rankings after they guided India to win in the first Test against England in Chennai.

Virender Sehwag clung to his 10th spot, to be the only Indian in the top 10, after he had turned the tide in India's favour in Chennai, before Tendulkar's unconquered 103 and Yuvraj's crafty 85 not out settled the issue.

Tendulkar now shared the spot with compatriot VVS Laxman who dropped two places. Opener Gautam Gambhir also slided two rungs to 20.

Out-of-form Rahul Dravid is placed 30th, two rungs ahead of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

England captain Kevin Pietersen dropped two places to eighth after their six-wicket loss. Teammate Paul Collingwood moved up the table to 18.

Among the bowlers, Zaheer Khan gained six places to 14 as the 30-year-old fast bowler took match figures of 5-81 during India's victory over England.

Yuvraj was benefitted 14 places to go to 74th in the table alongside England bowler Graeme Swann who was making his Test debut in Chennai.

Besides, England's Andrew Flintoff gains one position to 16th while India's Harbhajan Singh drops three places to 10th.

Delhi's Ishant Sharma is still pushing his way up towards the top 20 bowlers. The 20-year-old fast bowler is now 24th on the rankings table having gained six places after another solid performance in Chennai.

While Taylor's exceptional batting has helped him gain points in the batting rankings, he has slipped five places to 18th in the bowling list.

There is no change in the top five all-rounders with South Africa's Jacques Kallis still heading the table ahead of his side's first Test against Australia on Wednesday.
