Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan has advised England's cricketers to be cautious while making up their minds about whether to go back to India for a two-Test series.

"I would advise the English cricketers to be very cautious while deciding about returning to India," Khan was quoted as saying by the Urdu language Express newspaper.

"The terrorists had targeted foreigners in Mumbai and that is worrying," said Khan, who played 88 Tests and 175 one-day internationals.

However, England are to fly to Abu Dhabi on Thursday before travelling to India to resume the tour they aborted after last week's militant attacks in Mumbai.

"While we have sought to reassure players their safety is paramount we have not pressurised any player into making the trip against their will," Hugh Morris, managing director of England Cricket, said in an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) statement on Wednesday.
