Impressive fifties by Hyderabad opening batsmen Daniel Manohar and Ravi Teja helped their team to 220 for four on the first day of their Ranji Trophy Super League match against Baroda at home on Friday.
Irfan Pathan failed to make any impression after Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium at Uppal.
Pathan went wicketless in the first spell but eventually brought the breakthrough for Baroda when dismissed Ravi Teja for 72, thus breaking the opening-wicket partnership of 131 runs.
Left-arm spinner Rajesh Pawar was the most successful bowler for Baroda as he scalped Manohar for 71 and followed up with the wicket of debutant Mohammed Shakeer (17).
Anoop Pai made a valuable contribution of 41 runs and was at the crease at draw of stumps along with Amol Shinde (2).
