Tamil Nadu were struggling at 58 for three in reply to Maharashtra's mammoth 430 all out on the penultimate day of their Elite Group 'A' Ranji Trophy match in Chennai on Monday.
Wahid Sayyed got rid of dependable batsman, M Vijay (4) in his very first over and then scalped S Anirudha (21).
Munaf had R Prasanna (16) caught at slip by Kedar Jadav in the last over of the day leaving the hosts struggling.
At close, Dinesh Karthick (13) and night-watchman C Ganapath (zero) were at the crease.
Earlier resuming at 272 for 4 with only 19 minutes of play possible on a truncated day yesterday, Maharashtra made good use of the sunny weather to post a big total.
Yogesh Takawale (79), Vishant Bilare (40) and Ashish Suryavanshi (46) shone with the willow for the visitors.
Off-spinner, R Aswin was the pick of the host's bowlers as he claimed six wickets after giving away 133 runs.
After Takawale was out snicking to wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik off Ganapathy, Bilare was caught by Karthick off Aswin.
Suryavanshi was caught at covers by debutant R Srinivasan off Sri Vasudeva Das, who took 2 for 40.
