England [ Images ] captain Michael Vaughan [ Images ] is in doubt for the opening Test against the West Indies [ Images ], starting at Lord's on May 17.

The English Cricket Board confirmed on Friday that the 32-year-old has a broken finger and said he would have "further assessment".

Vaughan, who has not played in a Test for 18 months due to other injuries, suffered the latest setback while batting for Yorkshire against Hampshire on Thursday.
