Sri Lanka [ Images ] have recalled former captain Marvan Atapattu [ Images ] for their Test series against Bangladesh starting this month.
Atapattu, 36, last played Test cricket against India [ Images ] in 2005 before he was sidelined for 18 months with a serious back injury.
The right-handed batsman, a veteran of 88 Tests, returns in place of Sanath Jayasuriya [ Images ], who retired from Test cricket after this year's World Cup.
Uncapped left-hand batsman Malinda Warnapura [ Images ] and left-arm pace bowler Sujeewa de Silva are the two new faces in the 15-man test squad.
Muralitharan [ Images ] and left-arm swing bowler Chaminda Vaas [ Images ] will return to Sri Lanka after stints playing county cricket for Lancashire and Middlesex respectively, but will miss the one-day series to allow two younger bowlers an opportunity.
Batsmen Jehan Mubarak and Chamara Kapugedera [ Images ] have been called up for the one-day series only and will return home midway through Sri Lanka A's tour to England [ Images ].
Sriyan Samaratne, a former Air Force cricketer and administrator, has been named manager in place of Michael Tissera who retired after the World Cup.
