Former captain Clive Lloyd [ Images ] has been appointed manager of the West Indies [ Images ] team for its four-match one-day international series in India [ Images ] starting on Sunday.
Lloyd, chairman of West Indies Cricket Board's cricket committee, had travelled with the squad as an adviser for the ICC [ Images ] Champions Trophy [ Images ] in October. He will succeed Tony Howard, who has been appointed WICB's chief cricket operations officer.
Besides, Barbados coach Hendy Springer will join West Indies as a temporary assistant coach to Bennett King, WICB cricket operations officer Derrick Nicholas said.
King's regular deputy, David Moore, will not be available for the one-day series against India, starting in Nagpur on January 21.
The West Indies team leaves for the tour from Antigua on Wednesday.
