Delhi dismissed Andhra Pradesh for 209 to gain a massive 146-run first innings lead on the penultimate day of the four-day Elite Group A Ranji Trophy cricket match in Vijayawada on Thursday.
The visitors were 160 for three at stumps, increasing their overall lead to 306.
The hosts, resuming at 92 for 4 in reply to Delhi's first innings total of 355, folded up for 209 with only R V Prasad (36) and K S Shabuddin (50) putting up a middle order fight by adding 53 runs for the fifth wicket.
Suhail Sharma took a return catch to dismiss Prasad for a well-made 36, off 77 balls with six hits to the fence, while Shabuddin's half-ton came in 100 balls laced with one six and six fours.
Ishant Sharma claimed four wickets, while his new ball partner Amit Bhandari accounted for three scalps to give the vital first innings lead to the visitors.
Starting the second essay with a comfortable lead, Delhi lost opner Aakash Chopra (0) and M Tehlan (0) quickly but S Dhawan and M Manhas scored in contrasting styles to take the team total to 160 for three at stumps.
While Dhawan scored a patient 118-ball unbeaten 53, Manhas scripted a quickfire 86 off just 88 balls with ten fours and a six.
