Pacer Murtuza Hussain scalped four wickets as Mumbai reduced Himachal Pradesh to 180 for seven on the second day of the Elite group Ranji Trophy match in Dharamsala on Tuesday.
Replying to Mumbai's first innings score of 370, Hussain's four-wicket burst wrecked the Himachal line-up before Paras Dogra and Manvinder Bisla put up some fight.
While Paras was run out after scoring 42 runs, Bisla was caught behind off I Abdulla's bowling before stumps were drawn 12 overs early due to poor light.
Sarandeep Singh (8) and V Bhatia (4) were holding fort for the hosts at stumps.
Himachal made a steady start with M Gupta (29) and H Dogra (38) putting on 56 runs for the opening wicket before the latter was caught behind off Hussain's bowling.
Hussain then took three more wickets to wreck the Himachal line-up which was reeling at 78 for four before Paras and Bisla rebuilt the innings.
But the duo could not get the locals out of trouble.
For Mumbai, the only disappointment of the day was Test discard Ajit Agarkar's failure to take any wicket.
Earlier, Mumbai scored 370 with captain Amol Muzumdar scoring 90 and Vinayak Samant making 60.
