In the Kolkata Test Wasim Jaffer followed his marathon score of 202 in the first innings with yet another impressive show in the second dig, scoring 56 at a brisk pace.
Jaffer thus became only the fifth Indian batsman to score a double century and a fifty in the same Test. He is only the second Indian opener after Sunil Gavaskar to perform this feat.
Jaffer is the first Indian to do so against Pakistan. In fact there had been only two previous such instances against Pakistan.
