The West Indies [ Images ] skipper, who was doubtful for the crucial game due to back spasms, won the toss and elected to field.

India [ Images ] went into the match with a four-pronged pace attack, with Rudra Pratap Singh replacing Ramesh Powar [ Images ].

In the first league match, the South African fast bowlers made a huge impact and led the team to a 78-run win over Sri Lanka [ Images ].

The West Indies made one change to their team, the experienced Shivnarine Chanderpaul [ Images ], who missed the last game due to food poisoning, came in for Wavell Hinds.
