An excited Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar said the 101-run victory over Zimbabwe on Friday, in an inconsequential Champions Trophy [ Images ] qualifier, salvaged some pride for the team.

"Things went according to plan. Everything went our way," said a jubilant Bashar, after the day-night encounter at the Sawai Mansingh stadium in Jaipur [ Images ].

Both Bangladesh and Zimbabwe were playing for honour as they had already been gone out of the reckoning following defeats to Sri Lanka [ Images ] and the West Indies [ Images ] in earlier matches.

The result also helped the Tigers avenge a 3-2 loss in the recent away one-day series.

The author of Bangladesh's victory was 20-year old Shahriar Nafees, who struck an unbeaten 123, his second one-day hundred.

"I like to play strokes and the wicket was conducive for that. So I consumed more deliveries today," said Nafees.

The left-handed opener, who hit the headlines earlier this year with his maiden Test century against Australia [ Images ], added: "I tried to stay at the wicket as long as possible. In the end, we had a reasonable total."

The West Indies and Sri Lanka clash in the final qualifier at Mumbai [ Images ] on Saturday to decide the pairings in the Super Eight stage of the biennial event.

The winner of that match will be placed in Group 'B' with South Africa [ Images ], Pakistan and New Zealand [ Images ], and the loser joins India [ Images ], Australia and England [ Images ] in Group 'A'.
