The Pakistan Cricket Board has come down heavily on their star pace bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif in the doping scandal.

A PCB's drugs tribunal banned Akhtar for two years and Asif for one year on Wednesday.

The bans, effective from October 15, rule both out of next year's World Cup.

The players had tested positive for anabolic steroid nandrolone just ahead of their opening Champions Trophy match against Sri Lanka.

Do you think the ban, which may effectively mean the end of Akhtar's career, is justified? Should cricket also have a zero-tolerance to drug use like sports? Tell us
