• The Warner Park in Basseterre (St. Kitts) became 158th ground in the world and 12th in the West Indies to host a one-day international.

• For the third time in a row, Rahul Dravid won the toss in the series. This was the six consecutive toss that Dravid won.

• Virender Sehwag was playing his 150th match. He became the 13th Indian to do so. However it must be noted that in only 143 games Sehwag has represented India. His tally includes one Tsunami relief fund match for an ICC World XI v Australia, three Super Series matches for ICC World XI v Australia and three Afro-Asia matches for Asia XI v Africa XI.

• Ramnaresh Sarwan was playing his 100th match. He became 23rd West Indian to achieve this landmark.

• Dravid registered the ninth duck of his career -- his first against West Indies and his second as captain. Dravid's only other duck while leading the side had come against Sri Lanka at Dambulla on August 03, 2005.

• Sehwag by hitting three sixes equalled Kapil Dev's Indian record of maximum sixes in an innings against West Indies in West Indies. Kapil had done so at Berbice on March 29, 1983 during his innings of 72. While Krish Srikkanth holds the Indian record of maximum sixes in an innings against West Indies -- five at Sharjah on Oct 16, 1988 during his innings of 112.

• Sehwag became a victim of nervous nineties for the second time in his career. He was earlier dismissed on 90 against Zimbabwe at Hobart on January 1, 2004.

• The third wicket partnership of 112 runs between Sehwag and Kaif is India's best for this wicket in West Indies. The pair obliterated the previous record stand of 72 between Mohinder Amarnath and Kapil Dev at Berbice on March 29, 1983.

• Sarwan (115* off 119 balls) scored his maiden hundred against India in his 15th match. His previous highest against India was 99 not out at Ahmedabad on November 15, 2002.

• This was also Sarwan's highest score in one-day internationals; obliterating 104 not out against England at Bridgetown on May 5, 2004.

• The fifth-wicket partnership of 106 runs between Sarwan and Chanderpaul is West Indies' best for this wicket against India in West Indies. The pair obliterated the previous record stand of 92 (unbeaten) between Viv Richards and Gus Logie at Port-of-Spain on March 11, 1989.

• Sarwan's score is the highest by a number four West Indian batsman against India, expunging Viv Richards' unbeaten 110 at Rajkot on January 5, 1988.

• Sarwan's innings is also the highest by a number four batsman in West Indies. Australia's Darrren Lehmann had made an unbeaten 110 against West Indies at Grenada on April 14, 1999. The previous highest by a number four West Indian batsman in West Indies was Gus Logie's unbeaten 109 against Pakistan at Kingston on March 12, 1988.

• Sarwan has now aggregated 756 runs in 15 matches at an average of 84 with one hundred and five fifties. His average is the best for any batsman playing at least 10 innings against India. South Africa's Gary Kirsten with 1,377 runs in 26 games at 62.59 comes second.

• When he trapped Morton LBW on zero, Ajit Agarkar provided the 26th instance of dismissing a batsman on duck equalling Kapil Dev's tally. Now only Javagal Srinath (35) and Anil Kumble (28) are ahead of Agarkar for India.

• For the third consecutive time in the series, the result was decided in the last over of the match.

• The last time West Indies had won two successive matches in a bilateral series against a country other than Zimbabwe and Bangladesh was in May-June 2003, when they defeated Australia in three consecutive matches at home. However, by that time Australia had already won the 7-match series.

• Sarwan won his eighth Man of the match award -- his third against India and second in successive matches.
