Sachin Tendulkar, who is recuperating from a shoulder surgery, had a light practice session with a cricket ball on Wednesday at the Mumbai Cricket Association grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex.

Team India's trainer Gregory King threw a few balls to Tendulkar during a batting session that lasted around 25 minutes.

Bio-mechanist Ian Frazer was also present during the training session.

Fast bowler Laxmipathy Balaji, recovering from a back injury, also took part in the training session. He bowled a few deliveries in the nets, while also doing some exercise and running.

It is expected that Tendulkar would undergo further assessments before producing a fitness certificate before the Board on May 20.

The team for the four-Test series against West Indies, commencing on June 2, would be chosen after the third one-dayer on May 23 at St Kitts.

This was Tendulkar's second day of practice since undergoing a shoulder surgery in March. Yesterday, he had a light workout with a tennis ball under the supervision of coach Greg Chappell and physio John Gloster.
