Pathan down with sore throat

Indian left-arm seamer Irfan Pathan [ Images ] was forced to miss practice on Thursday morning because of a sore throat.

"Irfan has sore throat, that's why he didn't come for practice. But he will be fit for the match tomorrow," said G S Walia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India's [ Images ] media co-ordination committee member, on Thursday.

The Indian team practiced at the Nahar Singh stadium in Faridabad, the venue of the second one-day international, while the English preferred to avoid the long travel and chose to practice at the Ferozshah Kotla in New Delhi [ Images ].

The second match will be played at the Nahar Singh stadium n Friday.

India lead the seven-match ODI series 1-0 after winning the first in Delhi by 39 runs.
