India [ Images ] opening batsman Virender Sehwag [ Images ] faces a fitness test before the first one-day international against England [ Images ] on Tuesday, a Board of Control for Cricket in India official said on Saturday.

The attacking Delhi [ Images ] player suffered back spasms during the third and final Test in Mumbai [ Images ], which England won by 212 runs on Wednesday to square the three-match series.

"He will be assessed in the nets tomorrow before we know whether he will be available for the game," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah told Reuters.
