Dravid appointed captain till 2007

Rahul Dravid [ Images ] has been appointed as Indian captain till the end of 2007 Cricket World Cup, it was announced in Mumbai [ Images ] on Saturday.

"Rahul Dravid will be the Indian cricket captain till the end of the World Cup which will be played in West Indies [ Images ] next year," BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah told reporters.

Dravid took over captaincy from Sourav Ganguly [ Images ] after the Zimbabwe series last year. He completed 100 Tests during the third and final match of the series against England [ Images ] in Mumbai, which commenced on Saturday.
