England batsman Kevin Pietersen has been fined 30 percent of his match fee for dissent after being given out in the second Test.

Pietersen was given out after attempting to sweep off spinner Harbhajan Singh on Sunday. Television replays appeared to show the ball went off his forearm before being caught.

The batsman walked away shaking his head, indicating to his forearm and muttering to himself.

Pietersen pleaded guilty at a hearing with match referee Ranjan Madugalle after the match ended on Monday. India won the second Test by nine wickets.
