Sachin Tendulkar is looking to resume cricketing action by playing in a Twenty20 exhibition match to be staged at The Oval for the benefit of Pakistan quake victims.

Tendulkar, who missed India's current tour of West Indies as he is recovering from a left shoulder injury, said the charity match would be the right vehicle to test himself in a match situation as the pressure would be less.

"The doctors are happy with my progress and hopefully by the Sri Lanka series I should be fit. I'm trying to build up strength and planning to play exhibition games here where there's not much pressure," Tendulkar said on the sidelines of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone circuit yesterday.

Some other India stars, including captain Rahul Dravid, are slated to take part in the game, scheduled to be played on July 10, the BBC reported.

Tendulkar, all set to make his international comeback during the triseries in Sri Lanka in August, said it was unfortunate to miss the Caribbean tour.

'I want to be on the cricket field but it's one of those unfortunate decisions,' he was quoted by BBC as saying.

Tendulkar has not played since the final Test defeat against England in Mumbai in March. Last year he was sidelined for six months with a tennis elbow injury.

The Indian great said he was still unsure exactly how he acquired his latest injury. "The doctors said I must have fallen on it," he said.
