The Board of Control for Cricket in India [ Images ] on Monday awarded a Grade C contract to opener Wasim Jaffer [ Images ].

BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said in a statement that the Mumbai [ Images ] player, having played five Test matches during the period of players' contract, would now be entitled for retainership from June 15 till the end of September 2006.
