Indian and Pakistani cricketers observed two minutes' silence before the start of the fifth and final day's play in the second cricket Test in Faisalabad to mourn the death of home team all-rounder Shoaib Malik's father, who passed away on Wednesday morning.
Shoaib's father, Malik Faqir Hussain, was critically ill since the past few days and on respirator in his hometown of Sialkot.
Shoaib had taken leave midway through the match to be with him before rejoining the team on Tuesday.
The cricketer, however, rushed to Sialkot last night on receiving news that his father's condition was critical.
Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal filled in for Shoaib as opening batsman in Pakistan's second innings.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's team for the third and final Test, beginning at Karachi on January 29, will be announced later on Wednesday.
