Inclement weather and murky conditions, which clipped a major chunk of the third day's play on Sunday in the first Test between India and Pakistan, are set to continue over the last two days of the match, as per a forecast by the Met office in Lahore.

A total of 79 overs were lost to bad light and drizzle, with only 73 minutes of play possible during which India added 80 runs in 15 overs to their overnight total to be 145 without loss. Virender Sehwag (96) and skipper Rahul Dravid (37) were at the crease.

Floodlights had to be switched on right from the morning session, which yielded merely an hour's play. Only 13 minutes of play was possible after the lunch break.

While light rain has been forecast for Monday, the Met office has predicted showers on the final day of the Test.

It was drizzling when play was called off at 1520 local time and it continued till evening. There has been criticism from past cricketers like Imran Khan for choosing Lahore to host the first Test in the first fortnight of January when the weather conditions are not ideal for cricket.

The former Pakistan captain has criticised the scheduling of the Test series, saying Karachi should have been the venue of the opening Test, instead of Lahore.
