Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq won the toss and elected to bat in the first Test against India [ Images ] at the Gadaffi Stadium [ Images ] in Lahore [ Images ] on Friday.

Sourav Ganguly [ Images ] made a comeback into the Indian team and he was preferred in the playing eleven ahead of regular opener Gautam Gambhir [ Images ]. Zaheer Khan [ Images ] failed to make it to the side as India opted to play both it's spinners Anil Kumble [ Images ] and Harbhajan Singh [ Images ], while Ajit Agarkar [ Images ] and Irfan Pathan [ Images ] were named as seamers.

Pakistan also opted for a makeshift opener in Shoaib Malik [ Images ], who did well in their previous series against England [ Images ].
