The Glamorgan player will return home and consult a specialist. His participation in the remainder of the three-Test series will be reassessed after the review.

Earlier in the day, skipper Michael Vaughan was ruled out of the match after he failed to recover from a sore knee.

Vaughan will also return home and his availability for the rest of the tour is in doubt.

Andrew Flintoff will lead England as vice-captain Marcus Trescothick pulled out of the tour for personal reasons on Saturday.
