India decided to rest Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan for the inconsequential fifth and final cricket one-dayer against Pakistan in Karachi on Sunday.
The Indians, who have already clinched the series by taking an invincible 3-1 lead, had given enough indications that they would rest some of their top players for the match.
Tendulkar and Pathan, who have featured in all the matches since the tour began last month, will give way to bowlers Ramesh Powar and Murali Kartik in the 12 for the game on Sunday.
Left-arm spinner Kartik played only in the first one-day match at Peshawar while Powar, who was flown in as a replacement for the injured Harbhajan Singh will get his first opportunity to display his wares.
